CivMil.org Update
CivMil.org will be shutting down in the next few days to undergo a drastic remodel. When the site comes back up it will provide information aggregation services related to civil-military issues. There is no action required on the part of our current members. Just note that data from the current site will not be migrated to the new site. The Golden Phoenix information will be archived and the new site will begin with a clean slate. We do not expect the new site will support or require usernames and passwords. The site will run as a public service and will be primarily read only.
Fed 100: Bressler and Persano

Request for info on standards / certification of communications interoperability
Anyone who has knowledge of this subject, please respond.
I am collecting research for my graduate degree from GP participants on government or other standards that exist for communications interoperability, certifications of meeting those standards, and organizations that evaluate and issue those certifications. What national interoperability standards are industry attempting to meet? Who is creating and certifying these standards? What certifications do response organization purchasers look for to ensure systems are interoperable and meet criteria for federal funding / grants?

Maps, alerts, RSS, images and other feeds will be able to be integrated, and we can absorb Common Alerting Protocol Alerts as well. The goal will be a comprehensive view of all activities happening, along with live links to video feeds and participants websites.

Users Waiting For Group Access
Submitted by admin on Thu, 06/26/2008 - 02:19.Some people have joined CivMil.org using email address from domains like AOL and gMail; while this is perfectly acceptable, it will slow the process of approval for group subscriptions. The proces typically takes less than 24 hours, but due to the increasing interest in some of the groups on the site it will require follow-up if we do not recognize your username and email.

"Remember Me" Login
Submitted by admin on Mon, 03/03/2008 - 13:22.CivMil.org now supports persistent logins. You will now see a checkbox below the username and password field in the login block (see image). If you check this box and login your credentials will be remembered in that browser for 30 days. By using this feature you will minimize the "Access Denied" problems we are having. But there are a few things to keep in mind:
